Project Description

Project Environment:

KATAKORYFO SMPC, in collaboration with the National Public Health Organization (EODY), organized two significant health-related events as part of EODY’s participation in Joint European Actions, aiming to strengthen public health, preparedness, and crisis management at the European Union level. The events took place in Athens and targeted healthcare professionals and participants from EODY’s European partners.

The first event focused on the European Joint Action “SHARP” (STRENGTHENED INTERNATIONAL HEALTH REGULATIONS AND PREPAREDNESS IN THE EU), which included a two-day international exercise aimed at implementing and reinforcing European Directive 1082/2013/EU and the International Health Regulations (2005) regarding serious cross-border health threats. The second event was part of the European Joint Action “TERROR” under Work Package 7, and involved a two-day Working Meeting to enhance the management of bioterrorism threats and emergency health incidents.

KATAKORYFO SMPC provided full support for the events, ensuring the flawless organization and operation of all stages: from the preparation and setup of meeting rooms and provision of appropriate conference and technical equipment, to participant hospitality and secretarial support. The company ensured smooth execution, technical assistance, hybrid participation (online and in-person), and the preparation and delivery of final educational and evaluation materials.

The events combined scientific rigor with an impeccably organized environment, offering participants the opportunity to be informed, interact, and exchange experiences and best practices on public health and crisis management.

Project Scope:

KATAKORYFO SMPC undertook the complete organization and implementation of the two scientific events for the National Public Health Organization (EODY), covering all services required for their successful execution.

For the European Joint Action “SHARP” event, the company prepared and arranged the conference rooms, ensuring two spaces with capacities of 50 and 20 participants, appropriately configured with a presidium, round tables, and seating arrangements to facilitate participant observation and interaction. Technical equipment included laptops, videowalls, projectors, telephone lines, an online participation platform, and printing/copying facilities. KATAKORYFO SMPC also provided technical support throughout the two-day international exercise, ensuring smooth operation of the equipment and immediate resolution of any technical issues.

Participant hospitality was fully managed, including coffee breaks, light meals, dinner for 80 attendees, and special hotel accommodation rates to meet the needs of all invitees. The company also provided complete participant materials, including educational booklets, notepads, pens, folders with the exercise scenario, and two flipcharts for each room.

KATAKORYFO SMPC was responsible for the coordination and organizational support of the event, including the development of the exercise scenario, preparation of guides for facilitators and presenters, communication with participants and observers, and secretarial support throughout the two days. Finally, the company prepared and delivered the final evaluation report within one month of the event’s conclusion.

For the European Joint Action “TERROR” event, KATAKORYFO SMPC ensured the full organization of the two-day Working Meeting with 40 professionals. Conference rooms were suitably arranged and equipped, hybrid participation was supported, schedules were maintained, and technical support was provided throughout the meeting. Hospitality included coffee breaks, light meals, dinner, and special accommodation rates, while a professional interpreter was provided for Greek-to-English translation for the duration of the meeting.

KATAKORYFO SMPC also oversaw the production and distribution of all educational and informational materials, coordination of facilitators and evaluators, communication with all involved stakeholders, and preparation of the final report within one month of the meeting.

With KATAKORYFO SMPC's comprehensive support, both events were executed with high standards of quality and professionalism, offering participants scientifically accurate information, an impeccably organized environment, and full opportunity for interactive participation.
