This project is a part of ACCSEL 2015 and concerns the development of a set of informative infrastructures about the accessibility to the port facilities of the Port Authority of Patras. It contains three kind of operations:
1. Information system
- Both implementation platform and management and support services applications are developed on open source and settled in most recently updated versions.
- The offered system is able to manage different roles managers.
- Content management system as well as parts that complement its functionality is based on PHP programming language and MySQL database.
- Service management is designed to be done easily in the most used versions of browsers IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari.
- Mobile phones use is supported by the offered system. (eg. Dolphin, default Android browser).
- The offered system contains a sitemap.
- The offered system is SEO friendly designed.
2. Audiovisual material creation (short film)
A short film of 8-minuits duration was created, concerning on the accessibility to the port facilities of the Port Authority of Patras.
Features - Modules
- Access to all port areas (south, north, Marina, etc)
- Access by all modes (cars, public transportation, passengers, every ship type).
- Parking facilities.
- Handling services - Additional useful information.
Short movie special features
The short movie:
- is designed to be understood by everybody, so it is created in two language versions (Greek with English subtitles and English with Greek subtitles) and in sign language.
- contains maps, animations, graphics, symbols and aerial shots.
- sections are concerned in theme subjects such as management, strategy - vision, history, quality policy, etc.
- is presented on monitors in areas of port facilities, internet and media
3. Website design
- An informative website was created, properly designed for people with disabilities (based on the standard WCAG, version 2.0 to AA level).
- The website is available in both Greek and English, with the possibility of more language additions.
- Website content includes information derived from the port information system base and from other programs in which the Organization participates.
- Για τις ανάγκες της ιστοσελίδας δημιουργήθηκαν banners, γραφικά και χάρτης - google maps με πληροφοριακό υλικό. For the website purposes, banners, graphics and map - google maps got created.
